May 15

Today we decided to split up the group for our first visit.

Some went off with Guy in the van to go see the oldest button factory building in Czech Republic.

The rest of our group went to Preciosa Palace in the bus with J-Me.

Eventually we all met up and drove to Semily, a town outside of Zelezny Brod to have a bead party in the garden with Pavel, a wholesaler and manufacturer of beads.

After the bead party we had the bus driver drop us all off on the outskirts of Jablonec near a component company, and we all shopped there.

And some shopped at a bead store (House of Beads) before walking back to the hotel.

On the way, was a small Antik store that everyone stopped in at to see if there was any rare finds.

At six o'clock we all met with Petra to pay for our beads we had all selected during the last two days and to arrange shipping. Petra is a real trooper to be able to handle our whole groups needs. She is the best!

I think we are all getting really tired of buying beads every day. What do you think?

Guy purchased some moonshine Slivovice from the boyfriend of one of the hotel employees, and we all plan on finishing off the bottle before we fly out on Sunday.

J-Me and Guy are the owners of Wild Things Beads, a small family run import business specializing in Czech glass beads and buttons and finding the unusual to bring to their warehouse. They also run working bead tours to Jablonec and Hong Kong. Their warehouse is located deep in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California, and can be reached by phone at (530)743 1339 or on the web at www.wildthingsbeads.com. They are also open by appointment at their warehouse.
